Marley Vellasco is a Full Professor at Pontifical Catholic Univ of Rio de Janeiro. She received BSc/MSc degrees in Electrical Eng. from PUC-Rio and PhD degree in Computer Science from Univ College London. She published more than 500 scientific papers and supervised more than 50 PhD students. She currently acts as Associate Editor of Neural Networks, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TAI, IEEE TCDS, IEEE Trans on Cybernetics and Eng Applications of Artificial Intelligence. Prof. Vellasco served on the Board of Governors of INNS for 3 consecutive terms (2011 to 2019) and is currently the Secretary. She has also served on the INNS Award, Dissertation Award and Nomination Committees on multiple occasions. She has experience in the area of Comp. Intelligence, working in neural networks, fuzzy logic and evolutionary computing, focusing on developing models for Automatic Machine Learning, such as neuro-evolutionary, fuzzy-evolutionary and neural architecture search models.
