Marley Vellasco is a Full Professor at PUC-Rio. She received the BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio and the PhD degree in Computer Science from Univ College London. She published more than 90 papers in journals and 400 papers in conferences. She is the author of 5 books and 19 chapters. She supervised more than 40 PhD and 90 MSc students. She acts as Associate Editor of Neural Networks, IEEE Trans on Neural Networks & Learning Systems, IEEE Trans on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Trans on AI, IEEE Trans on Cognitive and Developmental Systems, IEEE Trans on Cybernetics, Evolving Systems and Eng Applications of AI.
 
Prof. Vellasco served on the BoG of INNS for 3 terms (2011 to 2019), acted has just started her fourth term (2023-2025). She also serves as VP Conferences of IEEE Comp. Intelligence Society since 2020. She has experience in neural networks, fuzzy logic and evolutionary computing, focusing on developing models for Automatic Machine Learning, such as neuro-evolutionary, fuzzy-evolutionary and neural architecture search models.
