Prof. Zenglin Xu is currently a full professor in Fudan University. He is the founding director of Statistical Machine Intelligence and Learning (SMILE) Lab. His goal is to address critical statistical and computational challenges involved in machine learning, and leading research in the fields of natural language processing, computer vision, social computing, cyber security, and biomedical applications.
Zenglin Xu received his PhD degree for his study on semi-supervised learning and kernel learning from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009, under the supervision from Prof. Irwin King and Prof. Michael Lyu. He has been working in Michigan State University, Saarland University and Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Purdue University, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He has published over 200 conference papers and journal papers in top-ranked conferences and journals in artificial intelligence and machine learning, such as NeurIPS, ICML,CVPR, AAAI, IJCAI, IEEE TPAMI, TNNLS, Neural Networks, etc. He regularly serves as AC, SPC, or PC member to NeurIPS, ACL, AAAI, IJCAI, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ICML, KDD, etc.
