Call for INNS Doctoral Consortium at IJCNN 2025

The International Neural Network Society (INNS) Doctoral Consortium is a premier event for Ph.D. students to showcase their research, receive valuable feedback, and network with established AI researchers. This consortium targets Ph.D. students who are approximately midway through their programs, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage with a selected panel of experienced AI researchers from INNS.
Objectives
The primary objectives of the consortium are for selected Ph.D. students to:
- Gain Insights and Perspectives: Obtain new ideas and diverse perspectives on their research directions.
- Build Networks: Form lasting friendships with fellow attendees, fostering a supportive cohort of emerging scholars committed to collaborative research.
- Mentorship Opportunities: Each student will be paired with a senior researcher to discuss their research and career aspirations.
Application Requirements
Interested Ph.D. students should prepare a short summary (1 page) that includes:
- Research Directions or Challenges: Describe the main research topics or challenges being investigated, such as potential thesis topics.
- Contributions: Highlight specific contributions made to the research direction.
- Future Work: Outline the directions for the remaining work.
In addition to the summary, applicants should submit:
- CV
- Doctoral Advisor's Name
- Affiliated Department and University
- Doctoral Thesis Title (can be tentative)
- Thesis Abstract (can be tentative, max 1000 characters)
- Research Plan (maximum 2-page PDF)
- Approximate date of PhD defense/final examination
- Do you have a paper accepted to IJCNN 2025?
- If you have a paper accepted to IJCNN 2025, what is the title and who are the authors ?
Please submit these materials before 21 April 2025.
Travel support
A travel grant will be provided for the selected participants at the Doctoral Consortium.
Special Invitation
PhD student authors of accepted papers that have received a travel grant are especially encouraged to present their research. All Ph.D. students are also welcome to attend and participate in the event.
