The International Neural Networks Society (INNS) AI, Law, and Regulation (ALR) Section is excited to host a workshop at the 2025 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) in the beautiful city of Rome!


About

The Section on AI, Law, and Regulation seeks to foster a community of technology law scholars and practitioners, AI developers, and AI policymakers to bridge the gap and establish strong collaborative partnerships to effectively and pragmatically approach AI governance.  

The primary objectives of the ALR Section are:

  1. Build Regulatory AI Literacy: Assist AI developers and researchers in navigating the complex regulatory AI landscape and understanding how it can impact their work.
  2. Foster Community Discussions: Open a platform for discussions through multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary approaches to hear from researchers, legal academics, and industry representatives on the current and imminent AI regulatory landscape and its impact on how we design, develop, and deploy neural network models.
  3. Inform Law and Policy: Facilitate a constructive dialogue between policy, lawmakers, AI developers, and industry.
  4. Facilitate Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encourage and facilitate connections and projects between technology law scholars, lawyers, policy actors, AI developers and researchers in the implementation and development of AI regulations.
  5. Knowledge Dissemination and Best Practices: Identifying, promoting, and sharing best practices to meet legal obligations and policy and law aspirations.

Event Details

The AI Policy and Regulation Workshop will take place on Tuesday, 1 July 2025 from 14:00-18:30 in the Loyola (230) Room.
